Career Coach Scheme (職場夫子儒生計劃) 2013-14
Invitation to be a Career Coach [Register]
To assist students in career planning and to promote Chinese culture and nurture students’ moral ethics, HKUGA has jointly organized a Career Coach Scheme (職場夫子儒生計劃) with the Centre of Development and Resources for Students (CEDARS) of HKU since 2009/2010. Under this scheme, students in HKU will receive career guidance and advice from experienced alumni and participate in large-scale community projects ie Confucius Carnival 夫子廟會and Chinese Costume Parade 華服巡遊to promote Chinese culture.
For 2013-14, we have a target of helping about 50 to 60 students. We would like to appeal to members with not less than 10 years’ work experience to serve as Career Coaches.
Alumni from all sectors are welcome. You will spend time with students for 10 hours or so over a period of six months, from October 2013 to March 2014 and provide students with insights into how the workforce operates in its myriad guises, advise them on how to prepare for the world of work in a rapidly changing environment, guide them to explore opportunities in the traditional or new industries and most importantly, educate them about the positive Chinese values such as modesty, respect, integrity and ethics.
